Each year, Canada receives more than 35 million temporary residents who are not immigrants. Any persons wishing to enter Canada as visitors must first get authorization, with the exception of Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
Individuals who wish to enter Canada temporarily, such as tourists, temporary foreign workers (individuals with work permits), and international students (individuals on study permits), must apply for and be granted a Temporary Resident Visa unless they are nationals of a country exempt from visa requirements (TRV).

Do You Have Questions?
In entering Canada, visitors can typically stay for up to 6 months (if the initial entry is not limited to a shorter duration by a Border Services Officer).
The day your entire application is received by IRCC, the processing period begins. It ends when a decision is made. It could change based on the volume of applications the IRCC receives and the nation from which the application was made.
Yes! You can submit an extension application to request a stay that is longer than six months. But, you need to submit your application before your present visiting status expires. You will have an implied status up until a decision is made on your extension application if your visitor status expires but you have previously applied for an extension and are awaiting your renewal. If your request for an extension is denied, you may submit an application for restoration of status as long as you do so within 90 days after the rejection date.
Applications for TRVs (visitor visas) that are denied do not have a formal appeals mechanism. If your circumstance has significantly altered or if you have a lot of fresh information to submit, you may reapply.
In general, in order to enroll in a course of study in Canada, international students need study permission. There are, however, not many exceptions to this norm. You do not need a study permit if your program in Canada is less than six months long, though it could be a good idea to apply in case you wish to continue your studies. If you are a family member of a foreign representative recognized by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, you may also study in Canada without a study permit. Also, you won’t need to get study permission if you are a member of a foreign armed force as defined by the Visiting Forces Act. You’re a minor child if you have a work/study visa in Canada.
To work in Canada, a foreign national needs to get a work permit. To apply for a work permit, you must have a job offer from a Canadian business. You must also fulfill other program criteria.
If your friend or relative needs a visiting visa to visit Canada, they must initially apply from outside the country. (Visa office in the applicant’s home country). You may send them a letter of invitation outlining your plans for them to visit Canada. You may say, for instance, that you’ll cover their travel expenses and lodging. A visiting visa application may be aided by an invitation letter, but this does not ensure that the applicant or applicants will be granted a visa.
Deficient operation forms
You should be redundant and active when filling out your operation forms, as leaving certain areas blank is the most common mistake you can make as an applicant. However, always try to find out how to answer, rather than guessing and leaving it blank, If you aren’t sure about any section. subscribe to all the needed sections. Missing out just one hand may lead to a deficient operation. Make sure to double-check all the areas in your forms, and only subscribe where a hand is needed.
Misrepresentation or incorrect information
Always be honest when furnishing information and supporting documents for your operation. Submitting any forged/ altered document may affect visa turndown. It’s judicious not to give incorrect information on the operation forms. Lying or furnishing forged/ altered documents will only dwindle the credibility of your operation and could be refused grounded on misrepresentation. Misrepresentation may affect legal action, junking, or being banned from Canada over 5 times.
Not having enough evidence of ties to your home country
You must give factual substantiation of fiscal and social ties to your home country, else, the officer may conclude that you may not return at the end of your stay in Canada.
Using an unauthorized representative
You can hire an authorized representative to help with your operation. Donated representatives are authorized by the government. Unfortunately, some numerous fraudulent companies or agents will overcharge you for what they claim is a guaranteed visa. An authorized representative will in no way give you a guarantee of success.
